Dallas freelance copywriter, at your service

Hello! My name is Laurie Williamson, and I’m a freelance copywriter. Dallas graphic design firms and ad agencies rely on me to write creative, effective content for websites, brochures, ad campaigns, and more. I also work directly with businesses and entrepreneurs. I have been working as a freelance copywriter for more than 15 years, and I love my job and my clients. My goal is to write copy that captures your customers’ attention, and helps your business grow.

I launched Rare Type, a Dallas copywriting and graphic design firm, in September of 2007. Rare Type provides freelance copywriting for websites, brochures, ads, direct mail, annual reports, and more. We also write headlines and taglines, help develop ad concepts, and offer radio and TV script copywriting. We work with clients in a wide range of industries, including restaurants, retail, consumer electronics, hospitality, finance, technology, healthcare and energy.

Before creating Rare Type, I worked as a graphic designer at Squires & Company, a Dallas graphic design firm, and Imaginaria, a Plano graphic design firm. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Design from the University of North Texas, and am experienced in both graphic design and copywriting. While Rare Type focuses on copywriting, I can also provide graphic design support for clients, on request. Most of the graphic design work I do these days is production work for clients that already have established brands. For example, I can knock out a quick brochure, direct mail piece, or ad campaign that follows your brand standards, and is designed to get results.
